July snapshots

A little roundup of what has been keeping me busy in London lately..

Graduating - Last words about that as I realize I’ve been nagging about a bit. First time in three year that I actually had (and took) the time to show my dear family my favorite places in London. On the day I wore a Mary Katrantzou x Topshop dress.
Olympics - Even without really following the scheme, I keep finding myself in the middle of it all.
The new house - My big and what I would like to think as life-changing project that I’ve taken on is not all fun, mostly quite exciting of course, but how should I put it.. not that easy.

I’ll be back to normal posting tomorrow as I’m heading to Finland for a week or so!

Weekend Girls

Us girls know how to use our weekend days wisely: concerts at the Piaza, endless thrifting extravaganzas, and many late hours spent entranced by old episodes of Gilmore Girls. Philadelphia, why are you always the best place for a quick getaway? Not even the rain got in the way of us having fun! Coming home with completely soaked boots is just part of the charm. Anyways, I always end up bringing a little something something back to NYC. This time, a tiny little blue frock I picked up at the moving Snowbird Vintage motorhome, sleepy eyes, and of course...some killer memories.

Tropical in South Beach, Miami

Luli Fama Bikini (different print/color here, similar print here)
Zara Shorts (adorable one here)

I'm currently in West Virginia battling a slow internet connection but here's a quick post from Miami.
I loved having the white sandy beach and warm ocean only a few steps away. Swimming in warm waters was definitely my favorite part and to match the vibrant and fun Miami spirit, I wore my tropical print bikini and shorts.

Currently..

I managed to plan a surprise birthday getaway to Miami for Wesley Mason this weekend. I told him that I had booked a job in New York for his birthday weekend and he was booked as a photographer and boy, was he not happy that he had to work on his birthday. He only found out we were going to Miami at the airport ticket counter! We were able to bring our lovely Charcoal so his birthday getaway got even better!

White Sands Romper
Ippollita Lollipop Pendant Diamond Necklace (had the hardest time choosing between the white and blue)
Sam Edelman Sandals (also here and here)
Chanel Bag (similar in black)

Wrapped Around my Waist

(Levi's vest and shirt/skirt, Stylestalker tee, MAKR backpack, Pennyroyal Studio anchor cuff, Fortune Favors The Brave double cuff)

I'm currently sitting in my sister's dining room in Philly...everyone is still asleep and I think it's going to rain. Fishtown is always strangely quiet and calm on the weekends, but I like having this slow, rare pace. Traveling here is just a whole other story, especially when you've taken the Greyhound! But they always say "the road is better than the in" now don't they? Anyways, I'm clearly going through a backpack phase. This happens every summer. For biking, for concerts, and everything else in between, you'll find me lugging this thing on my right shoulder. I swear it's that grunge vibe to Philly that gets me wearing 90's flannel shirts as a skirt, and men's denim vests. Classic All-American weekends, I adore you.

Olympic fever

So we finally had the Olympics kick off, while I was already mentally preparing myself for the crazyness all the shut roads would cause, I surprisingly learned that London had turned in to a ghost town. Maybe it’s because everyone is clustering up for the action, or that I have been strongly avoiding the crowds. Either way I need to tourist up a bit - not just because of the once in a life time thing, but because anyone would sooner or later have to admit that it’s a little bit cool having the Games in you hometown.
