Cosmic case

Ah saturday night, I’m finally peeling myself off the screen for a night out in Helsinki. But check out my new iphone case, pretty cool right?

Chicago Beaches, I love you

(Johnny Was blouse, Hallelu denim shorts, Vintage Boots Company "Covington" boot, Wanderlust+Co bracelets, Rebecca Minkoff bag)

Chicago, I miss you so much already! Dylana and I found ourselves completely zoned out by the cool water of Oak Street Beach. Lake Michigan, you really are a stunner! I was in town just for a day's shoot, but the whole 3 day's stay felt very much like a week. We barely slept! We stayed out late over at the dive-y bars of Wicker Park while mornings were spent overlooking the water in hopes of gaining some color. All I packed were lightweight, easy pieces like this Johnny Was embroidered tunic, and little denim cut-offs (yes, I wore them nearly everyday). I found Dy in and out of little babydoll frocks each day. See? Killer weather really makes getting dressed ten times easier. Right before our flights back to NYC, we hit the beach one last time...I came home with sand in my boots, in my hair, and just stuck to my skin. At least I brought a bit of the Midwest back home with me!

Yasmin Kianfar

YASMIN KIANFAR shirt and skirt
MANGO heels
MICHAEL KORS watch
FASHIONOLOGY jewellery

A designer that definitely deserves a mention is the young Yasmin Kianfar. Better known for her cut-out pieces, this lady is one of those to watch. I could have used a steam iron for the subtle chiffon but had to trust the sea breeze to do it’s trick while we photographed these on a very special little island in Barösund.

Summer Business

With the temperature in LA rising over 90 degrees and so many different business meetings to go to, I had to wear something that was less casual yet wouldn't make me hot which resulted in this outfit.

P.S. Can you tell that I cut my hair? My sister Dani is a hairstylist so what started out as just cutting the split ends ended up cutting off 6" off my hair because I wanted a slight change.

Whyred blazer, Stylemint Prince tee, jeans c/o iTEM denim, Romeo Satchel c/o Rebecca Minkoff, Michael Kors watch c/o Watches on Net, Karen Walker sunglasses, Acne Pistol Boots

Shot these photos a few days ago before going into the Metreon to watch Prometheus again. I had actually been wearing another coat but scored this Whyred blazer on sale at Urban Outfitters of all places! I'm getting used to wearing a watch again, it's been a while. I'm trying to step up my accessory game, hah. Don't know if I'll start stacking bracelets and get into the whole arm party thing but an oversized watch seems like a good start. Also thanks to Rebecca Minkoff for the awesome bag, feels nice to finally be using an actual bag that isn't a backpack or tote. Baby's growing up?

See by Chloé Resort '13

I've recently been working closely with See by Chloé and I couldn't be more in love with this French fashion house. It's cool to represent the brand, take all of my favorite pieces from the new Resort '13 collection, and really just get to make them my own. A messy head of hair, a swipe of red lipstick, and all of my favorite jewels. I remember someone in the office saying this season is "Chloé does Coachella!" So now I see why working with them has been the perfect fit! Lord knows that's my jam. Snapped up in Chelsea Arts Tower the collection felt very me...maybe because it was all inspired by California...Venice beach to be more specific, where I was born. The dreamy colorful knits, leather, and classic shapes feel fresh and have this youthful and playful vibe I swoon over. Now I'm just figuring out which pieces I'll be adding to my wardrobe in September! (photos by me and Lizzy at Chloé)

OK then

WEEKDAY coat
COS shirt
GINA TRICOT pants
PHILLIP LIM bag
FASHIONOLOGY rings
RIVER ISLAND sneakers
AMERICAN APPAREL nail polish

Okay to the god damn wedge sneakers that I once hated. Fine, I take back my words. Or at least to some extent because I have to say I think a pair of hidden high-tops go quite well with a button-down shirt and a blazer and if there is going to be sneakers on 5 inch and up, they better come with heels. These ones are by River Island and simply the best ones I’ve come across.

To be all honest with you, I have been using these for a few months now and also got them in white. 100% worth the purchase though as there is people popping up everywhere asking me where they are from.. all my other designer heels are really jealous.

The Duomo: Santa Maria del Fiore

(H&M Sweater, Toi Et Moi Shorts, Chanel Espadrilles)

I walked past The Duomo every day while I was in Florence, and everyday there I would stop by this place and just try to take in as much of it's beauty as I could. I don't think there will ever be enough time in my life for me to look through all of the great detail that went into building this cathedral, and I think I might have to take another (or several more) trips back to Florence so I can take in more of the beautiful architecture this city has to offer.
