Copenhagen: Walk in Style

(Nicole Miller "Artelier" blouse and skirt, Mango leather jacket, Matt Bernson heels, Marie Turnor bag)

For an evening out at ECCO's "Walk in Style" event, kicking off the start of Copenhagen Fashion Week, I thought I'd wrap myself up like a present with this gorgeous Nicole Miller skirt! This candy colored beauty caught my eye the moment I saw it at the Nicole Miller offices back in NYC. I had to take it home hehe! Paired with an equally hot pop of color in the blouse, it was one bold look! I'm obsessed. At the ECCO "Walk in Style" event, we were greeted by the beautiful Princess of Denmark, before being seated for a decadent 3 course meal. It was just so pretty, I think everyone in that room felt like royalty for the night! Also, that mayyyy be something that comes with having one too many glasses of wine! Our table was right by the runway, giving us a rad view of the show and the of course, the ECCO shoes, which were specially designed just for this event. There was everything from brogues to stellar ankle boots to graze the runway. I cannot wait to show you in my next post. I want to get my hands on them pronto, because honestly, they're the comfiest shoes I've ever slipped into.

Already beginning to explore the city, I've become inspired by the beautiful buildings. Copenhagen is so lively. I love it! The shops, the people, everything is just beautiful and I can't put my camera down. Never a surprise! I'm off to begin my last day here in Copenhagen with a relaxing shoot with one of my friends who happens to be in town, and hopefully picking up something at the local vintage shops. I woke up so early this morning, and not just because I'm dying for breakfast...I don't want to miss a moment of this place!

Danielle Foster bags

Early January I finally managed to book in a visit I had been planning for months; I took myself down to east London to visit the incredibly talented handbag designer Danielle Foster.  I remember coming across her designs every now and then but when I glanced through her fall look book, page after page filled with her signature style beautifully heavy leather bags, I simply went yes yes yes. I did not just want a bag, I wanted to see how these beauties got made, know everything about them and of course take the time to meet the designer herself.

And so I did, the model/designer was just as humble to meet me as I was to meet her, when I spent an hour or so sipping mint tea in her little studio. I placed two orders, one of them is being made in pic one, because if you have an opportunity to own a human hair tote - you really should.

Thank you Danielle for having me over, the collection is now online as a newcomer at Bengt, make sure to check the collection out here.

Frosty Morning

(Hallelu sweater, Joie coat, Athropology beanie)

Before hopping into a van early yesterday morning in Amsterdam heading for the ECCO leather tannery, I had to take one quick run to the canal...just to see how pretty it was. I love super brisk mornings and this one in Amsterdam was just stunning. Somehow it didn't get bright until late in the morning. The sky was that gray. And no surprise, it's freeeezing here! I threw on this adorable little beanie to keep my ears warm, while piling on layers of knits under my giant coat. Our ride to the tannery was pure bliss. I finally caught a little snooze while being plugged into my Ipod. It doesn't get any better than that! Right now, I'm in Copenhagen! I'm so jetlagged, I don't even know how we got here (can you image I forgot what day it was yesterday?) But after a night of deep sleep, I finally feel refreshed to start the day here. Stay tuned for more updates on my travels!

We are nominated!

I received great news during the week that 5 inch and up has been nominated for a Style Blogger award by Company magazine! I have to admit I am a bit excited because during my two years of blogging I've never been nominated for anything blog-related. Not only am I shortlisted for the 'Best What I'm Wearing Today Blog' but for the 'Overall Best Blog' as well!

The news about the nomination came around the same time as I heard about Company magazines re-launch. The clutch sized cutie includes a fantastic selection of the best 'what-to-wear-now' pieces and it was quite fun seeing many familiar blogger faces throughout the pages. A special shout-out for reader Katie, featured in the horoscopes, who said she turns to 5 inch and up for style advice!

So what do you think, should we try to challenge all those big blogs I'm up against? I guess this is the part where I humbly ask you to vote for 5 inch and up, if you think I deserve your votes. Only takes a minute and you can participate in winning £250 New Look vouchers by adding your email in the end.

voting time is until 11th of Feb, followed by a awards ceremony in March, whereafter the winners will be featured in the April issue of Company magazine.

Thank you all xxx

Hello There Amsterdam!

(Romwe sweater, Juicy Couture coat, J Brand jeans, Marie Turnor bag, ECCO boots)

I am now in Amsterdam, working with ECCO shoes, and I am already whisked away into my own little dream land. It's absolutely beautiful here. I flew in from NYC overnight and arrived here first thing this morning. With no time to spare, the ECCO group, along with my good friend Christina and I, hit the city streets. Footsteps from our hotel are the canals and tiny narrow streets. Though we all flew in from NYC completely exhausted, we immediately freshened up in our hotel before packing up on caffeine to get us throughout the day. If you can't tell by my photos...it's veeerry cold here! That of course, did not stop us from stopping and taking numerous photos around every street corner. Escaping back to our rooms for a little nap before cabbing it to a gorgeous palace style dinner, I feel as if we're in this amazing European dream. I love this city and it's beauty! Getting to be here with Christina is awesome. She's my little partner in crime when it comes to exploring a new city. Bundled up in layers and layers of clothing, we hopped from cafe to cafe before jumping knee-deep into a giant Dutch clog. Talk about awesome :)

I have just this night here in Amsterdam before taking off to Copenhagen tomorrow for the ECCO "Walk in Style" event and I'm so stoked. For this trip, I've literally packed all of ECCO's shoes. They're sooo comfortable and the epitome of European chic. Here I'm wearing a great pair of flat ankle boots. The rubber soles are pure genius. I could walk for miles in these babies! Also, I've been sporting a super thick sweater and coat to keep warm. But I'm feeling adventurous and thinking of sporting something a little more exciting these next few days in Denmark! My mind is a bit scattered right now, as I'm running on barely any sleep, but I can't wait to share more stories with you on my European travels!
