Did you guys have a Happy Thanksgiving?
Mine was the usual: KFC with the family since we don't like turkey and that's our lame tradition....
I've always envied those with a big happy family like my boyfriend's.
I come from a somewhat of a broken home although both of my parents are super loving and probably are the best parents who are also extremely stylish. lol
To be honest, I hate Thanksgiving. I hate any special holidays where you spend eating delicious food with your family because my sister and I only had each other when we were growing up and it was so boring. Nothing to do, no big meal to eat. Although we always had awesome friends who gave us leftovers. This year being Carol(thank you. We love you Carol. Your mom's the best cook!) Normally it's Sam aka Ham Shin who gives us his leftovers that he got from church..

My dad's brother passed away. Now our small family is even smaller. I went to a funeral for the first time and saw a dead person for the first time too. It was weird and sad. The fact that they're were only six of us was the saddest part. RIP 큰삼촌..
I don't mean to write such a depressing entry but for those haters out there, and who think I'm a spoiled rich girl, now you know, I don't have it all.

On a brighter note, I watched Ninja Assasin, and omg, it was such a good fight movie. I watched it with my sister and 5 of my highschool homies including Ham Shin, and all the guys hated the movie but my sister and I loved it. I think they're just jealous. They have to be. Rain is so hot in this movie. I think I want to be a ninja. I do qualify since I'm part Japanese. hehe

Aimeeways you guys, have a great week & a happy and warm December!
Love,
Aimee

After pretending like I'm cool and posing for the camera, I had to be my goofy self again. hehe
Believe it or not, I used to break dance it middle school and still kinda know how to crip walk. lol

DIFFA: Dining By Design Part II

So most of you guys guessed right. Our theme was a Vintage Carnival/Circus.
For those who guessed Alice in Wonderland, well that was one of our first concepts.
To be honest, I wasn't very fond of the Vintage Carnival/Circus idea at first but when you are working in a group, you need to realize there are things you need to compromise.
Initially the ladies wanted to go for a pinkish tabletop and I insisted we go with blue. I'm so glad we went with blue because they were a few tables who did a pink table top.
Also the stripe rug we chose is actually just a plain fabric that we got at Discount Fabrics.

Because other designers had three months to prepare for Dining by Design, some of them incorporated awesome architectural elements to their design.
I loved this cut out letter structure box. They didn't incorporate any dining elements which I thought was odd but then again, it's a foundation for AIDS, and their design scheme was all about phrases related to 'hope'. Also they had these cool LED lights that kept changing. I had so much fun inside their little 'box'

I was so curious how this project was going to turn out since I saw them installing their waffle like structure. To be honest, I was a little disappointed with their table top design. I didn't think it was as cool as their waffle like structure.

One of my favorites was a design done by one of the SFDC showrooms. It was a Moroccan theme table and was just plain gorgeous and looked very romantic. It reminded me of a sexy honeymoon dinner set up.

I wasn't sure what the concept of this design was but I could see a children's birthday party happening in here.

I really liked the white porcelein tiles with the wood tiles but wasn't really a big fan of the chrismas-y color. The table itself was gorgeous though.

I love it when designers play with light. This one had LED lights on the outer edge of the floor. The wall was gorgeous.

My boyfriend's favorite was this design with a graffiti wall on it. I liked it except for the picnic napkins. However, it goes really well with the theme which I am guessing is an outdoor picnic dinner.

This is the Academy Art's design. I loved the chandelier but hated the ugly black box that covered the top of the chandelier. (it's not in the picture because I cropped it)

This was another one of my favorites. Love how they went all out on an icy dinner.
Somebody should do a winter wedding like this. hehe

and lastly, me walking with my polka dot gift bag with Champagne in it. hehehe

So we finally finished designing our table (installation was yesterday) and showcased it today.
I really wished we had more time like the other designers but I think we did a decent job for pulling this together in a week. The ladies in the pictures are the other three designers I worked with: Maria, Anisa, and Maiko.
The San Francisco Dining by Design was incredible and this was an amazing experience. There were so many beautiful and awesome table set ups. I took lots of pictures so I will post more possibly tomorrow.
Aimeeways,
Enjoy the sneak peak of our table at the Dining by Design. Btw, can you guys guess what our theme was?

If Cancer had a scent, it'd be my Jeffrey Campbell Alexa Wedges.
They've been sitting on top of my dresser for over a week now and everytime I step inside my closet, it smells like, well, cancer.
Still, I think these might be the most bad ass shoes I have for now. I could probably join the KISS fan club. Don't you think?
Not only does my wallet prefer these over the original Acne Wedges, but the smaller wedges make it a lot easier for me to walk in and plus, I'm still shorter than my boyfriend. hehe

While looking at these pictures, and my video, I realized I touch my hair ALOT.
I don't know why... I don't mean to be such a Valley Girl. Seriously.

Just some pretty images that I've saved in my folder that I am obsessing over this week.
I've been unable to take any outfit photos this week due to the business of work. I happen to be designing the Dining by Design table (a DIFFA charity event to help ppl with AIDS) along with three other designers and while other designers had few months to source their items and come up with a theme, we started ours on Tuesday.
Must finish before this coming Monday as we are doing installations on Tuesday.

Btw, Thank you for the sweet comments regarding my video!
It was fun talking to myself! =D
